FAQ

These are the most frequently asked question.

If you have any question, please contact us. We are here to help.

Q. Your serum collection is extensive. How can I identify the most effective ones for me?

Each formulation addresses a specific skin concern. For example, if you have acne, you'll find products to treat a range of conditions, from painful cystic acne to pimples and blackheads. Within three to seven days, you will see a difference in the way your skin looks and feels. Still not sure? WhatsApp +65 9831 8763 for skin advice.

Q. How do I use your oligopeptide products?

Follow our simple 3 step ritual:

1. Oligopeptide Milk Cleanser: Emulsify with water. Using your fingertips, gently massage it into the skin in circular motions to deeply cleanse. Remove with our Facial Cotton Sheet. If you wear makeup, please double cleanse.

2. Oligopeptide Activating Essence: Soak a cotton pad with this and pat it all over your face. It prepares your skin for the next step.

3. Oligopeptide Essential or Advanced Complex Serums: Use 6-10 drops each time. Apply all over the face, focusing first on the problem areas, and the neck.

Q. Can I use more than one Ice's Secret serum at a time, and is there a sequence to follow?

There is no limit to how many you can use. There is no sequence either. You should, however, use the serum that addresses your concerns (acne, clogged pores, redness), followed by either and essential or advanced complex serum. As your condition improves, you can add more. Still can’t decide? WhatsApp +65 9831 8763 for more personal advice.

Q. What causes acne and how should I treat it?

A chronic inflammatory condition, acne causes spots, pimples, whiteheads, blackheads, cysts, nodules and more that can appear on the face, neck, chest, back, and upper arms. Each pore of the skin contains a hair follicle and a sebaceous (oil) gland. Acne occurs when pores become clogged with oil, dead skin cells, dirt or bacteria. When severe, it can be painful and cause emotional distress and scarring. Genetics, your menstrual cycle, stress, hot and humid weather, wearing oil-based makeup, and squeezing pimples are all risk factors. Treatment depends on how severe and persistent the condition is. You will find a product in our range that suits you here: https://www.icesecret.co/pages/acne-skin. Alternatively, please WhatsApp us +65 9831 8763 for personal advice. Note: We may need you to upload an unfiltered, close-up image of the problem.

Q. What does non-comedogenic mean in skincare products?

Non-comedogenic refers to products that will help you avoid clogged pores and other acne-causing signs. Skin that is oily or prone to acne will benefit most from non-comedogenic products.

Q. I am still unsure of my skin type. Is it true that skin changes over time?

Yes, it can change over time. For example, younger people are more likely than older folks to have healthy, normal skin. Here are some pointers to help you find your type:

Normal: The skin is neither too oily nor too dry; there are no visible pores; the skin looks radiant.

Combination: Usually oily in some spots but dry in others, such as the T-zone (nose, forehead, and chin), it may need
different treatment in different areas. Also, the pores tend to be more open, making them larger than usual, and it is prone to blackheads and shine.

Dry: Dry and dull with almost undetectable pores, it is also less elastic and prone to red patches and lines. The skin may also become itchy, inflamed or irritated. If very dry, it may be rough and scaly.

Oily: You may have enlarged pores, blackheads, pimples, or blemishes, as well as a dull or shiny, thick complexion. Depending on the weather, the oiliness can change.

Sensitive: This usually has signs of redness, itching, burning, stinging, dryness, scaling, peeling, bumps and hives.

Q. How do I keep my pores clear?

You can help prevent your pores from clogging by doing the following:

1) Follow a daily skincare regime of non-pore clogging or non-comedogenic products designed to help improve your skin’s health.

2) Look for a cleanser labelled “will not clog pores” or “non-comedogenic”.

3) Remove makeup at the end of the day.

4) Exfoliate regularly.

5) Avoid touching your face.

Q. How does sensitive skin differ from normal skin and what can I do to normalise or protect it?

Normal skin feels even and well-balanced and is neither too dry nor too oily or sensitive. Usually itchy, patchy, dry and prone to stinging, sensitive skin is triggered by wind, sun, heat, humidity, cold weather, hormones, poor sleep, pollution and topical products. Find out what triggers your sensitive skin so you can avoid it. You can protect your skin by not smoking, drinking lots of water, cleansing gently and thoroughly, avoiding direct sunlight and using a serum to soothe and improve it. To treat sensitivity, see our skin guide at https://www.icesecret.co/pages/sensitive-skin.

Q. What are the skin changes that come with ageing and how can I slow their progress?

Thanks to the sun, harsh weather and bad habits, it becomes rougher and a little more translucent as the surface skin thins out. Furthermore, it is fragile and loses elasticity, causing it to lose firmness and sag. In addition to using sunscreen, adjusting your diet and lifestyle, and drinking more water, proper cleansing and pampering with Ice's Secret's anti-ageing serums and masks are crucial. Q. How do Ice’s Secret oligopeptides keep me looking younger?

They brighten skin, boost collagen synthesis, hydrate, prevent the onset of premature ageing, and slow signs of maturing skin. They also heal and prevent acne, control sebum production, diminish enlarged pores, wrinkles, and fine lines, and improve sensitive skin.

Q. How often should I exfoliate?

Although there are no hard and fast rules on how frequently you need to exfoliate, the general rule of thumb is at least twice a week—even for sensitive skin and acne. We have effective sheet masks for a variety of concerns that work in minutes at https://www.icesecret.co/collections/treat-mask. Some customers use our masks daily.

Q. Can diet cause acne?

In a sense. Contrary to popular belief, chocolate does not cause acne. However, foods with a high glycaemic index, such as doughnuts with refined sugar, can increase hormone levels, cause inflammation and aggravate acne. And, if you eat fries late and night and break out, it is not the grease. Potatoes have a high glycaemic index.

Q. When is the best age to start using anti-ageing products?

People start noticing line and/or wrinkles in their late 20s. Our take: Don’t wait for them to appear. Start using our anti-ageing products, including Ice's Secret Everyday Moisturising Protective Spray SPF30  for short or long periods of sun exposure, before you see the first ones in the mirror.

Q. How can I avoid wrinkles?

As you age, your skin loses elasticity and collagen, and begins to wrinkle naturally. You can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by limiting sun exposure and wearing sunscreen every day. Using our serums with oligopeptides and antioxidants will also help.

Q. What should I do about dark spots?

Dark spots on the face can result from hyperpigmentation, a common skin condition that occurs when the skin produces too much melanin. Hyperpigmentation can be due to sun exposure, scarring, ageing, hormonals and even stress. Our serums for pigmentation will help you minimise them and even out your skin tone. Find out more at https://www.icesecret.co/pages/pigmentation.

Q. Do I really need to wear sunscreen every day?

Yes! If you care about your skin, wearing sunscreen with a minimum SPF30 is the one thing you can do to protect it most. It also helps decrease the risk of skin cancer and other undesirable effects, including wrinkles, fine lines, freckles and sallowness.
